Peter Castleton’s international fundraising, marketing and corporate consultancy experience spans twenty-five years across four continents. 

Peter has always been a pioneer in developing and implementing major fundraising and marketing strategies for an impressive range of clients, large and small.

In recent years Peter Castleton has concentrated on the tertiary sector holding senior executive roles including Director of Public Affairs, Australian Catholic University and Director, Corporate Communications, Bond University, (Australia’s first and only successful private university). 

Peter Castleton’s acknowledged key competencies include:

  • capital and recurrent fundraising, including endowed Chairs, major gifts for historic buildings, medical research and arts and cultural organisations;
  • marketing;
  • corporate strategies;
  • alumni recruitment and management;
  • appeals and scholarships;
  • media and public relations;

  • policy development and implementation.

Peter is a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute Australia Limited.

1992 – 1993         
Cambridge Arts Theatre, U.K. (£10 million).
In May 1995 the Cambridge Arts Theatre (CAT) received a grant of £6.64 million from the UK Lottery Commission, the largest grant at that time to an artistic organisation in the UK.
2000 – Sept 2004                   
Director, Corporate Communications, Bond University
November 1999 Peter Castleton joined Bond University (Australia’s first private university) as the Foundation Director, Corporate Communications.
During Peter's time at Bond, the University’s public image was rejuvenated, with student recruitment showing significant growth (average 9% per year), and just over $5 million was raised for Bond Foundation projects – including three seven-figure donors.

1987 – Established the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) Foundation. This campaign established the first working University Development Office in Australia. The fundraising target was $1 million –- and the nett result was $3 million for this initial campaign.

1992 to 1993 – Queensland University of Technology. A second phase campaign for QUT raised $12 million.
